Working Samba Share on Production Server

Yes, put this stanza into samba config file /etc/samba/smb.conf

sudo vi /etc/samba/smb.conf


Copy & paste if using putty:

[c$]
comment = Compu-Byte
writeable = yes
path = /home/compu/c
security mask = 0777
force security mode = 0
directory security mask = 0777
force directory security mode = 0
create mask = 777
directory mask = 777
dos filetimes = yes
dos filetime resolution = yes
veto files = /*.com/*.vbs/*.inf/


Save & exit:

:wq


Restart Samba:

Code: Select all

service smbd restart


Change permission of compu folder to allow everyone to read, write, and execute file:

sudo chmod -R 777  /home/compu/c
