Ordering now using Artificial Intelligence (AI). Now the software monitors stock movements on a day to day basis and uses these trends in movement to create an order for you, which you could accept or manually adjust. Orders are then printed for each supplier and each branch (stored as .exp files). Once the orders are received you use the the exp file and receive the stock. Try this new option in your stock package module now and be pleasantly surprised at it's remarkable ability to ensure that your stock levels are maximized for profitability. This is a first in any accounting package and we confident that no other software could even come close to it's accuracy and simple usability. Feel free to give us feed back on this great product release.

How does one ask for choices when a specific stock code is used in Point of Sale - Example : If you call up a stock code 1-1 you want the program to immediately bring a list down of choices example hot/extra hot/mild etc ; All you do is in the Special Parameters field of the stock code 1-1 you insert [CM hot/extra hot/mild . (Always ensure you have a square bracket '[' before the parameter)

Backup.exe is now a fully stand alone file that gets copied to the root of the drive where a backup is made. Running backup will now recognize if your server is down or your need to do a restore.

We have been often asked how does CompuByte handle percentage discounts for individual stock items based on the quantities sold. For individual items you insert as follows in the Special Parameter field [DQ 5-10=7;11-20=10;20-9999=25 (You can insert the same in the group if you want the complete group to use this structure). In the example above, any item sold between the quantities 5 and 10 will get a 7% discount, while any items between 11-20 will get 10% etc. (Always ensure you have a square bracket '[' before the parameter)

The audit on documents has been further improved and also integrated to debtors viewing. - Also if an individual date is viewed the salesperson sales history (in y readings) wont be deleted until a Y is inserted.

USB printing has been supported on CompuByte software.
Please read the information below carefully and also view the video file below.

A few things you have to know when you install or choose to purchase a USB printer.

    a) USB printers are registered in windows and made specially for the windows environment You must have a version of windows installed that uses USB ports (win98 wix xp) - To know on which port your printer is installed in windows check the properties on the printer (right click on printer and choose port) - the printer may be installed on USB001 or LPT1 etc - Always make sure that parameter 140 is set accordingly.

*** Important :- If you using a USB cable insert it always in the same USB port and make sure the cable is connected before you begin the CompuByte program ***

    b) The terminal where the USB printer is installed must have in the startup bat file (program that runs CompuByte) the following: \programs\pr2file c:\ram\spool inserted in the 1st line - this directly spools all prints to the USB file.

    c) In Invoicing and Goods receiving the f5 key needs not be pressed if para 140 is set correctly (eg. 2>usb001) - however in all other modules the f5 key must be pressed to preview printout and print.

    d) Labeling can be used with USB if our new label software is installed.

    e) Ensure that you have p.bat and ps.bat in \programs directory.

    f) The nature of USB printers in a Point of Sale environment does not allow documents to be spooled directly, so don't expect direct printing to your printer to occur like a parallel printer. We therefore suggest that you rather choose a printer that has a parallel connection if you need immediate responses to the printer.

    g) USB printing is simulated by CompuByte and because of the many external variables that could affect it's performance we cannot guarantee absolute reliability.
